Tamarind
sometime i feel like going up the mountains to Jerusalem
(where my dynasty come from) i guess its in my blood.
the air the weather … the Market!
there is a market there that called “Machne Yehuda Market” . It is very colorful, very special place for me.. a lot of food, vegetables, spices and spacial drinks combine from fruits and herbs which made according to recipes of Maimonides or from the KABALA mmm.. very interesting flavours.
also organic stuff all my senses are participate the big “party” …
one of the drinks i really love is Tamarindi or Tamarind juice.
sweet-and-sour flavour… cold and highly refreshing in the summer days,
it is very common juice in Jerusalem.
the name means Indian (Hindu –from India) date(Tamar), Tamarindus indica in Latin.
this chilled drink is also very common in Egypt .
it also been used to cook with it and make sweet delights.
it is one of the ingredient of Worcestershire sauce (for example)
recently i was amazed to find out that the Tamarind have also:
medicinal uses, carpentry uses (in some Buddhist temples) and Horticultural uses in many places Asia.
you should try that drink it is delicious
and …no chemicals!!!
